The great-great nephew of a First World War hero who perished in the battlefields of France has said “a wrong has eventually been righted” after his uncle finally took his place alongside his comrades on South Hylton War Memorial.
Lance Corporal Chris Roney died at the age of just 23 following a battle with the Taliban.
