Brian Brobbey told where he can improve after signing new Sunderland deal
Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey has penned a new long-term deal at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey has been told what he must do to improve his game after putting pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal at the Stadium of Light.
The 17-times capped Netherlands international has been an unquestionable success since joining the Black Cats from Dutch giants Ajax last summer and a return of eight goals in 32 appearances in all competitions only tells half of the story of the impact he made during his first season on Wearside.

Brobbey has continued to provide an awkward test for opposition defenders during the opening months of the current campaign - although his only goals came with a stunning hat-trick in a defeat at Manchester City in September.

Former Premier League striker Daniel Sturridge described Brobbey as ‘a big problem for any defenders’ - but insisted the Black Cats frontman must add more goals to his game over the coming weeks and months.
Speaking ahead of today’s game with Chelsea, the former Liverpool and England striker told Sky Sports: “This guy is honestly such a handful. He’s look The Hulk, you just can’t get the ball off him. He’s holding the ball up, his height as well, you’d think he’s not going to be able to hold, but I’ve not seen a player in years be able to hold the ball up the way he holds the ball up.
“Bringing people into play is one thing, he is a goal getter as well, he can score goals, we’ve seen that over the years. He’s got Enzo Le Fee around him, [Chemsdine] Talbi around him now, who can provide that little bit of silk and runs in behind. This man here is such a handful. I think he’ll give Chelsea trouble today. He’s got to add more goals, of course he’s got to add more shots. That’s the only way you score by taking shots but I think he’s just such a big problem for any defenders to deal with.”
