Ahead of the Wear-Tees clash, many fans have debated whether a game between Sunderland and Middlesbrough can be described as a ‘derby’.
Le Bris was posed this question, before responding: “The most important derby from my knowledge is Newcastle. Middlesbrough will be an interesting fixture but I'm not sure for the supporters and fans it's a specific derby.”
Newcastle United ended an almost 13-year wait for a win over Sunderland in January when they triumphed 3-0 at the Stadium of Light in the Third Round of the FA Cup. A brace from Alexander Isak and a Dan Ballard own goal secured Newcastle the win in the first Wear-Tyne derby match in over seven years.
Newcastle United ‘still keen’ on Atalanta midfielder
Newcastle United remain interested in signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to TNT Sports Brazil. Ederson emerged as a target for the Magpies back in January, but finances prevented Newcastle from signing anyone during the winter window, save for their signing of Alfie Harrison from Manchester City.

According to the report, Newcastle United remain interested in Ederson, but face stiff competition for his signature if they firm up their interest into a bid.
Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old. Ederson is currently an international teammate of Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes.
