Major Metro disruption ahead of Remembrance Sunday and SAFC home game against Chelsea
Nexus have said a replacement bus service will be in operation
Sunderland AFC fans and people planning on attending the city’s Remembrance Sunday service this weekend are being warned about travel disruption.

Nexus have warned that for a period on Sunday there will be no Metro services in either direction through Sunderland.
In a post on social media, a Nexus spokesperson said: “No trains will run between Pelaw and South Hylton in both directions on Sunday 8 November until about 11.30am, to allow for Network Rail work. Replacement bus services will be running.”
Tens of thousands of people will be heading into Sunderland this Sunday. The city hosts one of the largest Remembrance Sunday events outside of London with the parade scheduled to set off north on Burdon Road to the War Memorial at 10.35am.
The Black Cats are also set to take on Chelsea at 2pm in front of another sold-out Stadium of Light.
