Janusz Lewandowski: I remember it like this a proper little shopping centre. Me mam sending me out for half a stone of potatoes. Michele Arkley: There was a pet shop on Villette Road I used to look at the tortoises around 1955-6.

Les Golding: My mum used to take me to the barbers down the bottom near Valley Road, late 1950’s Christine Finn: Remember joining the library there and going to a nearby sweetshop sometimes Patsy Almond: Brilliant photo. Great memories.
