Pacifica has been awarded Gold in the 2026 RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, retaining the status it achieved last year after previously receiving Silver in 2023.

The company operates a nationwide network of engineers repairing domestic appliances in customers' homes, supported by specialist teams at its Houghton-le-Spring headquarters.

Richard Melvin, Head of Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Training (SHEQT) at Pacifica, said: "Achieving our second consecutive RoSPA Gold Award is something everyone at Pacifica can be extremely proud of because it demonstrates that the standards recognised by RoSPA last year continue to be embedded throughout the business."

Pacifica's health and safety programme includes regular training, toolbox talks and health and safety communications, as well as PPE, site visits and quarterly health and safety committee meetings.

More than 12,000 hours of training were delivered during the company's latest reporting period.

Mr Melvin said maintaining consistent standards required involvement from colleagues throughout the business.

"Health and safety is part of how we operate every day," he said. "With our engineers working in homes and communities across the country, supported by colleagues throughout the business, maintaining consistently high standards requires commitment from everyone."

Pacifica works with a number of the UK's major appliance manufacturers, retailers and warranty providers and completes more than 75% of repairs on the first visit, with parts pre-ordered for more than 85% of jobs.

The company's latest Gold Award continues a three-year progression from RoSPA Silver in 2023 to two successive Gold Awards.

Mr Melvin added: "To progress from Silver to Gold and now achieve Gold for a second consecutive year is important recognition of that collective effort.

"Our priority remains ensuring our people can work safely and return home safe every day, while continuing to identify where we can improve further."

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, which mark their 70th anniversary in 2026, recognise organisations demonstrating high standards of occupational health and safety management.
