Sunderland's Carabao Cup quarter-final draw: Crystal Palace fixture date, prize money and key details
Sunderland have discovered their Carabao Cup quarter-final opponents after beating Brentford at the Stadium of Light
Sunderland will face Crystal Palace away from home in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup following Wednesday evening's draw.
Régis Le Bris' side secured their place in the last eight with an entertaining 3-2 victory over Brentford at the Stadium of Light, with Chemsdine Talbi, Ivan Tutierov and Malick Fofana all finding the net.
It was an encouraging performance from a much-changed Sunderland side, with Jocelin Ta Bi particularly impressive after playing a part in all three goals. The victory also provided a welcome boost following the Black Cats' difficult start to the Premier League campaign. Sunderland will now travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
When will Sunderland face Crystal Palace?
The Carabao Cup quarter-finals are scheduled to take place during the week commencing Monday, December 14, 2026. An exact date and kick-off time for Sunderland's trip to Crystal Palace have yet to be confirmed, with television selections also to be finalised.

Should Sunderland progress, the two-legged semi-finals are scheduled for the weeks commencing January 11 and February 1, 2027. The final will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 21, 2027.
How much prize money have Sunderland earned?
Sunderland's progress to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals has provided a financial boost, although the competition operates differently from the FA Cup when it comes to prize money.
The Black Cats have not yet earned a fixed performance-related prize, with payments only awarded from the semi-final stage onwards. However, Sunderland will have benefited from their share of gate receipts during their cup run, alongside any applicable broadcasting revenue.
According to BBC Sport's breakdown of the 2026-27 competition, losing semi-finalists receive £25,000, runners-up collect £50,000 and the eventual winners earn £100,000. Victory in the quarter-finals would therefore guarantee Sunderland at least £25,000 in fixed prize money, with further financial benefits possible through matchday and broadcasting income.
