Man Utd make offer to England youth prospect after Sunderland and Middlesbrough transfer links

Sunderland have previously been linked with Manchester United winger Omari Forson.

Manchester United are in talks with teenage winger Omari Forson over a new deal following reported interest from several Championship clubs.

Sunderland and Middlesbrough were among the clubs credited with interest in the England Under-20s international in January, with his contract set to expire this month.

Yet, after announcing their retained list, United have confirmed Forson has formally been offered a new deal at Old Trafford. The 19-year-old made four Premier League appearances for Manchester United during the 2023/24 season, while playing three times in the FA Cup.

Manchester United also remain in talks with former Sunderland defender Jonny Evans and goalkeeper Tom Heaton over potential new contracts. Now 36, Evans made 23 Premier League appearances after re-signing for the Red Devils last summer.
