Sunderland-linked Jermain Defoe wants to stay at Rangers ‘forever’. The striker is out of contract at the end of next month and is currently due to become a free agent and has been linked with a return to the Stadium of Light.

However, the former England international has stated he would like to remain with Rangers.

He said “I want to stay here forever. I love it here. Everyone knows it’s special. When I spoke to the manager when I was coming here, the first thing he said is ‘you will love it here.’
