5. All new in Southwick
After 18 months of planning and hard work a new £28,000 community garden opened in Southwick in June 1991. It was designed by sculptor Julie Livsey with members of the Southwick Tenants Association and schoolchildren. | se

7. Crowds at the Klondyke
Durham County Show was held at Klondyke Garden Centre at Lambton in July 1995 and look at the crowds. | se

8. A fruitful exercise in 2000
Giant steel pineapples were installed on the traffic island at the Board Inn back in August 2000 as part of Sunderland's entry into the Britain in Bloom competition. | se
