Drone pictures show wonderful tribute to key workers on Washington Highway
A large rainbow has been marked on the grass just off the A1 motorway, a sign which has become a symbol of hope during the UK lockdown.
As recognition to those who are risking their lives working on the frontline, the words ‘Thank You’ are displayed in capital letters underneath the rainbow.

Similar tributes have been created across the country, including on Keir Hardie Way near the Stadium of Light and at the entrances to Sunderland’s hospitals.
Many have shown their support for key workers by displaying rainbows and other colourful items in their front windows and gardens.
Communities have also paid respect every Thursday at 8pm by taking part in a round of applause for NHS staff and key workers.
