Unique Army band experience coming to Sunderland's Fire station
‘Operation CyberBeat is coming to Sunderland’
British Army bands are giving two free live performances in Sunderland next month.
The Catterick bands come to The Fire Station on Wednesday, November 25 with a performance at 11am for schools, colleges and universities. The second performance is at 7.30pm.
Using VR headsets, attendees can march alongside military musicians, conduct an orchestra and explore the instruments.
The experience then becomes Operation CyberBeat, an “innovative and immersive musical adventure” in which The Fire Station comes under attack from a hostile cyber nation, with audience participation.
A spokesperson for the event said: “We are delighted to bring the British Army bands to The Fire Station for the very first time.
“These free performances will showcase not only the outstanding musical talent within the Army but also offer a unique opportunity for audiences, particularly young people, to engage with technology, creativity and teamwork through the exciting world of Operation CyberBeat.”
Both performances are free, although booking is recommended. Visit www.thefirestation.org.uk.
