Gary Lineker shares Roker Park memory as Alan Shearer and Micah Richards talk Sunderland

The trio discussed their least favourite football grounds to visit during the latest episode of the Match of the Day podcast.

But former Newcastle United hero Shearer couldn’t believe that ex-Manchester City star Richards couldn’t recall some of the United Kingdom’s former stadiums.

Richards said: "When I got the email I was like, ‘Roker Park? What’s this?’

“I was Googling it! I had no idea!”

Shearer was quick to respond: “You have never heard of Roker Park?!"

“I have never heard of Roker Park. The Dell as well, what is The Dell?” Richards responded.

"Oh, stop it!” Shearer joked.

Later on in the podcast, Lineker discussed playing at Roker Park.

He said: “I played a couple of times in my early days with Leicester and the ‘Roker Roar’ really was a thing. It really was. A well-supported club.”
