Serial Sunderland thief banned from all Morrisons stores for a year
A Wearside shoplifter has been banned from all Morrisons stores after pilfering £614 of goods from the same outlet in a near month-long spree.
Leanne Clarke, 47, was given the blanket year-long prohibition after appearing in court to admit targeting the retailer’s Shiney Row outlet seven times.
Clarke, of The Anchorage, also Shiney Row, struck first on August 16 when she stole £149 of various goods, magistrates in South Tyneside heard.
She returned on August 27 and made off with a mix of stock with an unknown value.

Three days later she again swiped various goods of an unknown value and did the same on September 5.
A further theft followed on September 8 when she took £465 of products and the following day she took other goods.
Her spree ended on September 12 with another theft to an unknown value.
Clarke pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft from a shop.
Kyle Patterson, defending, encouraged magistrates to impose a Probation Service recommended community order.
He said its contents would help Clarke to deal with issues around alcohol and substances.
Mr Patterson added: “It is noteworthy that there have been difficulties over a number of years, initially with heroin addiction.
“There was a very difficult childhood and trauma from that which led her into heroin from a relatively early age.
“Her life has been beset by issues with addiction related to mental health. Her last offence was in 2023.”
Magistrates sentenced Clarke to a 12-month community order, with probation and drug rehabilitation requirements.
They also ordered her to pay £614 compensation and to stay out of all Morrisons stores for a year.
