Who is Robbie Gotts? The Marcelo Bielsa favourite tipped to swap Leeds United for Sunderland, Hull City or Huddersfield Town

The Harrogate-born youngster has been courted by a number of clubs this summer, and we take a look at the man reportedly on the radar of Phil Parkinson:

Young, energetic and good on the ball, Gotts has regularly caught the eye for Leeds’ under-23 squad - and indeed, he featured in their win at the Academy of Light last week.

His versatility, energy and willingness to impress has endeared him to Marcelo Bielsa and he is highly-regarded at Elland Road.

While he was initially a right-back, Bielsa sees Gotts as a number eight - playing as a box-to-box midfielder.

What has been said about him?

Gotts is known to be a favourite of current Leeds United boss Bielsa, who talked up the midfielder’s abilities last week while discussing a potential exit.

“If a good opportunity presents itself for Gotts to go out on loan we will help to make this happen," said Bielsa, speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"If he stays with us he will be in contention here, we think he's a very valuable player for us.

“It's very difficult to affirm what I've just said as he's had very few minutes in the first team.

“But it is true that I have a big respect for Gotts' footballing abilities."

What do we know about Sunderland’s interest?

The Black Cats have been linked with a loan move for Gotts.

Phil Hay of The Athletic claimed that Sunderland were one of the sides monitoring the 20-year-old and, with the domestic window open until October 16, there is still time to seal a deal.

Who else is interested?

Sunderland are far from alone in their rumoured interest in Gotts.

Swindon Town and Hull City have also been linked, while Huddersfield Town - who are managed by former Leeds under-23 boss Carlos Corberan - are also thought to hold an interest in sealing his signature.
