The Black Cats will be looking to make new additions ahead of next season, while some players are set to leave the club before the start of the next campaign.

13. Luke O’Nien
O’Nien is now into his fifth season at Sunderland and will have a year left on his contract this summer. The 28-year-old remains an important player in the first team and is settled at the club. Photo: Frank Reid
14. Carl Winchester
The 29-year-old has spent this season out on loan at Shrewsbury, while his Sunderland contact will expire this summer. He’s not set to be offered a new deal at the Stadium of Light. Photo: Frank Reid
15. Corry Evans
Sunderland’s captain has signed a new contract for next season, despite being unavailable due to an ACL injury. The Black Cats have recognised the 32-year-old’s contribution and also have a one-year option to extend Evans’ contract after the 2023/24 season. Photo: Stu Forster
16. Dan Neil
While there has been Premier League interest in the 21-year-old midfield, Sunderland will be confident they can keep their academy graduate. Like Patterson, Neil will hope he can reach the Premier League with the Black Cats and is under contract until 2025. Photo: Martin Swinney
