Sunderland make their return to Premier League action as they face Spurs at the Stadium of Light on Sunday

Sunderland face Spurs on Sunday afternoon in a crucial Premier League fixture.

West Ham United’s emphatic win over Wolves on Friday night means that the stakes could not be higher for the visitors, who now find themselves in the bottom three and at risk of an unthinkable relegation. Roberto De Zerbi takes charge of his first game at the Stadium of Light bidding to turn around their fortunes.

While the pressure might be largely off for a Sunderland side who have all but secured their place in the Premier League for another campaign, there remains much to play for. A win would be a major boost to the club’s hopes of securing a top-half finish, and a place in European competition next seen is at this stage still a possibility.
