Sunderland ended their US tour on a high with a win over Wrexham in Philadelphia.
Nordi Mukiele’s goal was the difference between the two teams and though Wrexham improved in the latter stages as a younger Black Cats side took to the field, the result was a deserved one that will encourage Regis Le Bris.
Here’s how we rated all the Black Cats involved in Pennslyvania...

1. GK - Robin Roefs
Good to have him back. Didn’t have much to do in the way of saves but his distribution while not perfect was generally strong and opened up opportunities for his team. 7 | Getty Images

2. RB - Nordi Mukiele
A constant threat in the first half and took his goal well, a first-time finish from a narrow angle that was a reward for his good attacking runs. Came off early in the second half and looked in a bit of discomfort, which is a concern for Sunderland. 7 | Chris Fryatt, Echo

3. CB - Dan Ballard
Had a really strong half. Made a good early block and dominated his battle with the Wrexham forwards. Looks in a good place. 7

4. CB - Luke O'Nien
Wasn’t tested too much defensively. On the ball he kept it moving quickly and precisely, which is what his team needed. 6 | Chris Fryatt, Echo
