Sunderland were back in action on Saturday as they faced Everton in the third round of the FA Cup.
After a 1-1 draw across 120 minutes, Sunderland won 3-0 on penalties.
Here’s how we rated all the Black Cats involved on the day...
5. LB - Dennis Cirkin
Another good game as he continues building momentum after his injury return. Solid defensively and made some decent runs forward. 7 | Getty Images
6. CM - Granit Xhaka
Took a little while to get into his work but showed a really good passing range through the second half. Strong in extra time, seemingly fired up by the questionable penalty award. Great penalty in the shootout. 7 | AFP via Getty Images
7. CM - Noah Sadiki
Put in a massive shift on his return to the starting XI, covering so much turf during extra time in particular. 7 | George Wood/Getty Images
8. CM - Enzo Le Fee
Took his goal beautifully well, a first-time volley that flew into the far corner. Full of clever touches throughout and unlucky not to assist Mayenda in the second half. Despite that penalty miss at Brentford, a top player in top form and showed his bottle to score in the shootout. 8 | Getty Images
