Sunderland were back in action on Saturday as they faced Everton in the third round of the FA Cup.
After a 1-1 draw across 120 minutes, Sunderland won 3-0 on penalties.

1. GK - Robin Roefs
So close to Garner’s penalty having guessed the right way, but just beaten. Didn’t have too much to do throughout the rest of the contest and then shone in the shootout, saving all three. Held his nerve sensationally well. 9 | AFP via Getty Images
2. RB - Trai Hume
Gave away the penalty at the death but it was a soft one at best. Can consider himself a bit unlucky. Defended well for the most part. 6 | Getty Images
3. CB - Nordi Mukiele
Played really well for the most part and was denied by a brilliant Pickford save in the first half when he fired an acrobatic volley towards goal. Good second half but lost the ball in the build up to Everton’s penalty. 7 | Chris Fryatt
4. CB - Luke O'Nien
Had an excellent game and can be really pleased with his efforts. Very composed on the ball and completely dominated his duel with Beto throughout the game. Showed what he has to offer. Brilliant penalty, too. 8 | Getty Images
