Sunderland are preparing for their Championship fixture against Coventry City this weekend – while both clubs are dealing with multiple injury issues.
The Black Cats recorded their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Rotherham last weekend, with Jobe Bellingham scoring his first senior goals.
Coventry have taken four points from their first three league games this season, following a 1-1 draw at Swansea last time out.
Here’s the latest injury news from both camps ahead of the fixture:

5. Jenson Seelt (Sunderland) - Doubt
The Dutch centre-back, 20, suffered a recurrence of his ankle injury during pre-season and is yet to make his senior debut for Sunderland. Seelt has also returned to training and could return to the squad against Coventry, even if he's not expected to feature. Photo: SAFC

6. Jamie Allen (Coventry) - Out
Allen was a key player for Coventry last season but was hospitalised over summer with a condition called pericarditis (inflammation around the heart). The 28-year-old has been working his way back but remains unavailable. Photo: Chloe Knott

7. Ross Stewart (Sunderland) - Out
Stewart remains sidelined following a major Achilles injury he sustained in January. The striker, 27, has been out on the training pitches at the Academy of Light and hopes he can return after next month's international break. Photo: Frank Reid

8. Kasey Palmer (Coventry) - Doubt
The 26-year-old, who made 30 Championship appearances for Coventry last season, missed last weekend’s match at Swansea due to a family reason. Coventry boss Mark Robins has confirmed Palmer has returned to training. Photo: Getty Images
