The 17-year-old midfielder joined Liverpool at Under-15 level from Sunderland and he made his debut with the Under-18 squad last year as an Under-16 player.
Stephenson has started this season as part of Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s Under-18 group. Stephenson is one of several young academy prospects to leave Sunderland over the last two years.
