The window is now open with the Black Cats and their League One rivals eyeing deals.
Kristjaan Speakman, Lee Johnson and the club’s transfer team are set for a busy few weeks on Wearside as they target a number of new additions.
The Black Cats released seven players following the end of the 2020/21 season.
