It has been an excellent start to the campaign for Sunderland and Regis Le Bris, with the Black Cats currently sitting top of the Championship in the second international break.
With nine games played, it’s the first chance to pause and reflect on the campaign so far. Sunderland have impressed fans and neutrals alike, but there’s still more to come from many in the squad. Here, Phil Smith gives his ratings so far... Only players currently in the senior squad who have made a competitive appearance so far this season are included.

21. Enzo Le Fee
Has been every inch the high-quality performer Sunderland fans had hoped he would be. Made some brilliant contributions before injury - hopefully can have an even greater impact when back in his strongest position from later this month. 8 | Getty Images

22. Nazariy Rusyn
Always a willing runner and brought a welcome injection of energy from the bench at times, but didn't really get any closer to breaking through and playing on a regular basis. With competition up front only growing, his January departure made total sense. 4 | Frank Reid

23. Wilson Isidor
Sunderland's striker problems have been a distant memory for much of this season. Has scored regularly and often with brilliant individual efforts. Works hard, causes defenders problems with his pace and loves the club. A top, top signing. 8.5 | Frank Reid

24. Eliezer Mayenda
A brilliant season to date and a potential young player of the year contender. Always making things happen, with a very impressive goal and assist tally considering how often he has been used as an impact substitute. Remarkable progress from his difficult loan at Hibs in the second half of last season. 8 | Frank Reid
