Sunderland will hope to bounce back from back-to-back defeats in the Championship as they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City. Tony Mowbray’s side are currently in a play-off position after a run of six victories from their opening 12 matches but they will be determined to improve on showings against Stoke City and Teesside rivals Middlesborough in the league.

The Black Cats face a challenging test against the league leaders Leicester who are currently flying at the top of the table with 11 wins from their opening 12 matches. Enzo Maresca’s men are currently on a run of seven consecutive victories in the league and they have already established a gap of 11 points between themselves and third-placed Leeds.

When is Sunderland vs Leicester City?

Sunderland travel to Leicester City on Tuesday 24 October and the game takes place at the King Power Stadium. It is the first meeting between the two teams since April 2017 when reigning Premier League winners Leicester City recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory with Jamie Vardy and Islam Slimani getting on the scoresheet.

Goalscorer Vardy and assist maker Marc Albrighton are both expected to feature for Leicester more than six years on from that victory.

How to watch Sunderland vs Leicester City

Sky Sports Main Event will provide comprehensive coverage of the Championship clash between Sunderland and Leicester. Build up to the contest begins at 7.30pm and the match kicks off half an hour later at 8pm.
