Manager Darren Moore has signed Lumley on a seven-day emergency loan, after Stoke City recalled England U21 international Josef Bursik.

Lumley will be a familiar face to Sunderland supporters, having played against the Black Cats just three weeks ago. Lumley had made his Gillingham debut against Sunderland as part of a wo-game emergency loan at the Priestfield Stadium.

The Black Cats ran out 2-0 winners in that game, but Lumley did go on to keep a clean sheet in his other appearance against Crewe Alexandra.

The 25-year-old is available for selection at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday, though Moore could yet hand a start to young goalkeeper Louis Jones, who has impressed in cup action this season.

Jon Taylor is a doubt for the game, while midfielder Madger Gomes and loan duo Tyreece John-Jules and Rayhaan Tulloch are all set to miss out.

“We've always admired Louis Jones here, we see him with a big future ahead of him if he continues doing what he's doing,” Moore said.

“For one so young he's always thirsting to get better and he is getting better, without a doubt.”

Doncaster have a number of other injury concerns ahead of the game

Elsewhere, Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has confirmed that Bali Mumba is set to be sidelined for around ten weeks after suffering a knee ligament injury.

Mumba has made an impressive start to life with the Championship promotion contenders, breaking through into the matchday squad in recent weeks.
