Boro’s on-form winger, 21, assisted hat-trick hero Jelle Vossen’s second goal and Patrick Bamford’s strike at The Den as the visitors produced a near-perfect away display.

“It went exactly how we wanted it go. We started quick, pressed them high and it work a treat,” he explained.

“Danny (Ayala) and Ken (Omeruo) won a lot of headers, (Adam) Clayton and Grant (Leadbitter) won the second balls and we counter attacked from there.

“We got three early goals and it was game over by half-time. It could have been five or six by then, to be honest.

“The manager said at half-time not to let the performance drop and to pretend that it was 0-0.

“We knew they’d apply the pressure but the way we replied (to Millwall’s goal) was what we’ve been all about this season.”
