The Humbledon lad to shared his name with a world renowned snooker star: Share your own celebrity name
Humbledon 13 year old was no stranger to the green baize
Wearside potter Steve Davies was taking a cue from his namesake.
The 13-year-old from Humbledon was no stranger to the green baize as he chalked up a couple of tournaments on holiday in 1996.

But his real love was football and the Sunderland Echo was told: “He plays key role with his team, Barnes Park Rovers.”
Wearside’s own Steve did not mind one bit that he had a famous namesake.

The Sandhill View pupil said back in 1996: “I really enjoy watching the game sometimes.”
His mum Wendy said: “He’s not too bothered - a name's, a name.”

We would love to hear from anyone with a famous namesake.Or perhaps you would like to tell us about other types of nostalgia you would want to see in our retro section.
It might be memories of your favourite shop, club, nightclub or restaurant. Maybe you want to get back in touch with former workmates from a Sunderland factory, or with pals who you went to school with.
Or perhaps you would like to share memories of a sporting occasion in the past which you would like to revisit.
