Striking pictures as cold snap hits Sunderland with freezing temperatures and wild winds

The North East woke up to ice and snow on Sunday (November 28) to top off a difficult weekend of weather thanks to Storm Arwen.

As temperatures plummeted in the wake of Friday and Saturday’s high winds, photographers out and about across Sunderland captured some dramatic weather pictures.
