Paramedics were deployed in the early hours of this morning
Nissan Way remains closed after an overnight collision which the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) have said involved a pedestrian.

An NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 12:52am this morning (11 September 2026) to reports of a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian outside Wearside Farm on Nissan Way in Sunderland.
“We sent an emergency ambulance crew, a clinical team leader, Hazardous Area Response Team, a doctor and a specialist paramedic to the scene."
There have been long delays for Nissan workers after the reported collision with motorists told to follow the detour and to find an alternative route.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At 1am today (Friday) we received a report via the ambulance service of a collision on Nissan Way in Sunderland. Emergency services are in attendance and a section of the road remains closed to motorists."
