Seaham - Down Your Way

'˜CREE-ATION' men's group takes place at Eastlea Community Centre every Monday, from 2pm to 4pm. Go along and try therapeutic art or making mosaics while having a cuppa in a relaxed and friendly environment. Ring 5812399 for more information.

Quit smoking sessions take place at Eastlea Community Centre on Monday afternoons, 1-2pm. Pop in and speak to June for more information.

Next Tuesday, February 9, Mrs J Wright, TSNU, will preside at the evening session at 7pm held in Seaham Spiritualist Church, Vane Terrace, SR7 7SA. Entrance will be £3.50 and all are welcome.

Old and new customers went along to the first Christ Church monthly Friday lunch of this year and £476 was raised towards Church funds. Thank you to all our kitchen staff and loyal supporters.

Christ Church will hold its summer fair on Saturday, July 2, at 1.30pm. Constructive ideas for fundraising stalls will be welcomed by the parochial church council.

Dawdon Karate Club meets in Dawdon Community Centre on Tuesdays from 5.15pm to 6.15pm and on Fridays from 5pm to 6pm. Contact Eddie Thompson on 07709791744 for more information.

Services for Sunday (Sunday next before Lent) will be held at Christ Church, Station Road, with Holy Communion being celebrated at 10am and evening prayer at 6pm. On Wednesday morning there will be a said service of Holy Communion at 10am. All are welcome to go along and join in the fellowship.

Thanks to the generosity and support of Seaham and district people, the grand amount of £19,575.51 has been banked by Seaham Branch of the Royal British Legion for the Poppy Appeal. The amount should rise in the near future as there is still money for wreaths outstanding. All donations to be sent to the Poppy Appeal organiser as soon as possible.
