A West End star is heading to Sunderland to run a special musical theatre workshop later this year – and here is how you can get involved.

Erin Caldwell is getting ready to lead a special workshop on Sunday, November 29 at St Andrew’s Church, in Roker – home to theatrical drama group Act Six.

Erin is a well-known name on the West End and is best known for her role as Veronica Sawyer in Heathers the Musical and Jane Seymour in Six the Musical.

She will be covering acting, singing and dancing at the church from 1pm until 4pm.

Speaking about the event, Act Six said: “We are over the moon and honoured to have Erin come along and hold a Six-style workshop.

"We are all excited and can’t wait.”

This is the first musical theatre-style workshop the drama group has held, although it has ran workshops before, including one in August that gave an insight into the group.

The group was founded in 2010 as Monkwearmouth Drama Group before rebranding back in 2023 to Act Six.

Tickets are on sale now for £25 per person with the event aimed at those aged 11 and above.

Speaking about plans for future workshops, Act Six said: "We don’t currently have workshops planned for 2026 as we are currently rehearsing for our pantomime Snow White, which is taking place in November from Thursday 19 until Sunday 22, so we’re very busy these next few months.

"This being said, we will be having a summer workshop in 2027, so watch this space.”
