The Bradley Lowery Foundation has today – Thursday, March 12 – announced that the planned home, in Scarborough, will be named Super Brad’s Pad.

Set up in the wake of six-year-old Bradley’s death in July 2017, the charity in his name had plans approved last year to build the home on Burniston Road.

It then asked for suggestions from members of the public to name the holiday home, which will provide luxury breaks for families to make special memories.

Hundreds of people sent in their best ideas for a title, with mum and charity founder Gemma Lowery making the final call on the name.

Speaking as the name was unveiled for the first time on Thursday, Gemma said: “I’d like to say thank you to everybody who contributed their amazing suggestions last year.

“Brad was, and always will be, my superhero – his smile and contagious enthusiasm for life were his superpowers. So, what better name could there be than ‘Super Brad’s Pad’?

“We’re currently working hard to build up our network of contractors and suppliers to help us make our dream a reality – building a holiday home, a permanent legacy for Bradley, which will help hundreds of families to do what we were so lucky to be able to do after his diagnosis – make precious memories that will live in their hearts forever.”

Since its launch, the Foundation has raised more than £3million for dozens of children across the UK who are fundraising for medical treatment and equipment, established a dedicated support line for the families of children with cancer, donated thousands to researching childhood cancers and campaigned for new drugs to be introduced in the UK.
