She said: “It’s very exciting to have Jordan here. We’re not used to getting big names like here so we’ve had a lot of interest and a lot of excitement around the event. The turnout is really, really good. We had 300 tickets on sale and we sold out so it’s been a really great event.

The new book is described as the definitive autobiography of the Liverpool captain and England star as well as a ‘must-read for every football fan’.

The book goes into detail on Hendersons rise at Sunderland AFC before his transfer to Liverpool in 2011 and his early struggles on Merseyside before becoming club captain in 2015.

Now 32, Henderson grew up in Herrington and attended Farringdon School – which also boasts England cricketer Scott Borthwick and Olympic boxer Tony Jeffries among its former pupils.

At the age of eight, he joined Sunderland’s youth system and went on to sign a professional contract with the club in July 2008.

During his time at Sunderland, the young midfielder rose through the academy, became a regular starter in the Premier League and went on to win the Sunderland Young Player of the Year award for two seasons running.

After a decade on Mersyside, Henderson has gone on to win the League Cup, Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup, and Premier League.

As well as being a Sunderland and Liverpool star, Henderson has also become a regular fixture for the England national team and is set to represent the three lions once again in Qatar 2022 World Cup.
