“Officers are currently at the scene.”

One Shiney Row resident was visiting a friend when the police response arrived on the scene.

She said: “I was driving down Wright Terrace at around 2pm when I saw both marked and unmarked police cars drive in-front of me with sirens flashing. They blocked off the street and I saw two armed police officers get out of the vehicle with guns.

“People who live in the area blocked off aren't able to get back in their houses. It was really frightening at the time. Kids are on their way home from school, and the situation is just very scary."
