Thief admits to stealing bank cards and burglary at Premier Inn in Sunderland

A thief has appeared in court to confess to a burglary and a string of thefts.

Asisa Kamali, 47, of Chester Terrace, near Millfield, admitted stealing a bank card in Sunderland on January 6.

During a hearing at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, she also pleaded guilty to stealing another bank card on January 18, also in Sunderland.

Appearing via video link from Low Newton prison at Durham, she further admitted burgling the Premier Inn in Sunderland on January 26, an offence in which she took £100.

And she also entered a guilty plea to stealing a bank card and £301 of cash from a woman in Sunderland on February 24.

Kamali had originally pleaded not guilty to the two of the theft charges and the burglary and was due to face trial.

The court heard she is currently on remand at Low Newton on separate charges for which she will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court on June 1.

She was also remanded on the latest charges, for which will be sentenced on the same date at the crown court.
