Police release more pictures of thugs they want to trace after violence at North East Black Lives Matter protest

Police have released more photos of people they want to speak to after violent disorder at a North East Black Lives Matter demonstration.

Protestors clashed with members of a group which had gathered around Grey’s Monument in Newcastle on Saturday, June 13.

Three previous appeals have already been issued to help officers trace individuals they believe could assist with the investigation and a large number of people have already been spoken to.

Police released a number of images of people they wanted to speak to several weeks ago and 48 men and one woman, aged between 15 and 62, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

They have all either been released under investigation or on bail.following the violent disorder in Newcastle during the summer.

Another 14 people have been spoken to as voluntary attenders.

Now a further 14 images of men and women have been issued.

Assistant Chief Constable Scott Hall said: “So far the public’s response to these appeals has been fantastic and has enabled us to identify and trace a number of people we needed to speak to.

“This large-scale investigation is still very much ongoing and once again we need your help – so if you recognise anyone pictured in this latest round of images please get in touch with us.

“We are committed to finding and bringing to justice those responsible for the completely unacceptable violent scenes we saw in June.”
