Connor Brown murder: Police video shows step-by-step what happened on the night Connor Brown was killed

Sunderland fan Connor Brown was murdered in an alleyway near Park Lane in the early hours of Sunday, February 24.
On Thursday, December 12, Northumbria Police released a video showing images and footage that were used to gather evidence.

Hide AdThe video shows what happened in the lead-up and the aftermath of Connor’s death.
He suffered five stab wounds and tragically died.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “The incident happened in the early hours in an alleyway behind The Borough Pub.
“Police learnt Connor had been involved in a row with two men over £5 shortly after he was stabbed.”
These men were Leighton Barrass, 20, and Ally Gordon, 20 and the CCTV footage in the video, which was shown in court, shows their actions before the incident.

Hide AdThe footage captures the end of the altercation between Barrass and Gordon and Connor's friend Stephen Nunn.
Barrass, who wears a distinctive blue puffer jacket, can also be seen in other CCTV footage fleeing from the scene in the video. He falls to the ground in Albion Place outside Chilinos and can be seen being kicked in the head by a doorman, who was told Barrass was carrying the ‘joker’ flick knife.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police added: “Gordon travelled up to Scotland on the following day and was tracked down and arrested by officers.”
Both men were charged with Connor’s murder and they both denied this in court.

Hide AdAfter a three week long trail, the verdict on Wednesday, December 11, found Leighton Barrass, guilty of murdering the 18-year-old, and he has been sentenced to life. He will serve a minimum of 20 years.
Ally Gordon was found not guilty of murder, but was found guilty of manslaughter and possession of a bladed weapon. He has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison.
On the steps of Newcastle Crown Court, just minutes after the convictions, Tanya Brown read a statement on behalf of her and his dad Simon regarding the loss of her “wonderful son.”
