The one-year-old from Hetton now has 100 percent vision back in her left eye in a fantastic response to the treatment she has been having.

Meanwhile, the battle goes on to try and save her right eye but there has been more positive news on that front as well.

Almost £1,400 has been added to the GoFundMe campaign to help Denvah since the Sunderland Echo last ran a story on her in May.

Mum Gemma, 43, said: “She is the little girl who amazes us every single day and who, by the looks of it is kicking Retinoblastoma right back where it belongs!”

Two huge fundraising missions to amass £25,000 are under way to help the now 22-month-old get the help she needs in the USA.

The Help Save Denvah’s Eye campaign has been launched by her mum Gemma, 43, and dad Paul, 45, and you can find out more about it here.

In a separate boost, Sunderland woman Maureen Thompson has chosen Denvah as one of the causes she will be supporting in 2026.

She will be holding a charity night on November 14 and an appeal for donations of prizes was launched today. Find out more about Maureen’s fantastic efforts here.

Gemma has given an update on how Denvah is faring since our last story.

“Her left eye, is as always absolutely amazing and the tumors, although still very much active are shrinking slowly but surely. They are still both pretty big but not half as big as they were back in November, or over her fovea or pupil now, which means that she still has 100% sight back in this eye.”

She described the progress as ‘absolutely amazing as we have a clear plan and we know what's going on and what will go on with this eye.”

But she added: “Her right eye, is as always the troubled eye. The tumours are not really reacting to the laser anymore so this could be a worry or it could be good news. They have no idea which. The worry is that the laser is just simply not strong enough to do anything with the tumours , that the tumors are still very much active and if that is the case then we are simply just waiting for them to start growing again, but obviously Paul and I are one step ahead and we have USA lined up.

“Once we know that we need to go, it needs to be done very quickly so we are so so thankful that the money has nearly been raised and we don't have to worry about that. Thank you!”
