Former Sunderland student Skye lands top marketing industry award
It has been a rapid rise for the former University of Sunderland student.
A former University of Sunderland student has been named as Young Marketing Specialist of the Year.
Skye Bulmer, now head of marketing at Wealth of Advice, picked up the award at the 2026 Money Marketing Young Financial Planner Awards in London.
Skye joined Durham-based Wealth of Advice in 2021 as a digital marketing assistant, having previously studied graphic design in Sunderland.
Just two years later, she was head of marketing overseeing the Wealth of Advice website, educational materials, events, video content and managing the company podcast.
Skye, 28, from Consett, said: “When I was studying, I was often told that I would probably have to move to London to find the opportunities I wanted.
“I’ve lived in the North East my whole life, so being able to stay true to my roots, build my career here and then travel to London to receive a national award makes it feel even more special.”
