Seaburn STACK is set to double in size and there’s more good news as the business has joined the team of fantastic supporters of this year’s Sunderland Echo Business Excellence Awards.

Phase 2 of the plans for the Seaburn venue will get under way next year after statistics showed 100,000 people are turning up every month.

Exciting expansion plans include mini golf, darts, shuffleboard, bowling and karaoke booths, along with a large function space on the first floor.

Neill Winch, CEO of the Danieli Group which owns STACK Seaburn, said the group was “delighted to be a sponsor of the Sunderland Echo Business Excellence Awards and to help celebrate the positive and exciting achievements of businesses across the city.

Neill added: “STACK is a fast growing brand and we have recently announced the opening of another development in Lincoln and we have other sites in the pipeline with more locations to be added to the portfolio in the North East and beyond.

It opened in September 2020 and now gets around 100,000 visitors every month as well as a 58,000-strong social media following.

The awards finale is less than a month away.

Categories include Apprentice/Trainee; Best Independent Business; Best Large Business of the Year; Business in the Community; and Employer of the Year.

They also include Entrepreneur of the Year; Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Business of the Year; SME Business of the Year; Social Enterprise of the Year Award; and Sustainable Initiative of the Year Award.

The winners of other awards will be revealed on the night.

The next stage in the competition is to reveal the winners at our grand finals night at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland in November.
