Seaham confirms list of events for the months ahead as lockdown easing takes its next step on May 17

A dozen events have been confirmed by town leaders as lockdown easing enters its next stage.

Seaham Town Council has announced the details of celebrations and activities to be hosted in the town following discussions between is members, with Seaham Carnival weekend among those lined up for people to enjoy.

It comes as today, Monday, May 17, marks the next stage in the easing of restrictions, with the next steps expected on Monday, June 21, with discussions ongoing with partner organisations as it prepares for the events.

It has said: “As part of our event planning we will continue to monitor Government updates on their outlined roadmap to ensure we follow their up to date guidelines.”

*Armed Forces Day – Seaham Town Park – Saturday, June 26

*Youth Festival – Seaham Town Park – Sunday, June 27

*Brass Band Day – Terrace Green – Sunday, July 4

*NHS Day – Seaham Town Park – Monday, July 5

*Seaham Carnival – Terrace Green – Friday, July 16 to Sunday, July 18

*Shoreside Festival – Terrace Green – Saturday, July 31

*Seaham Food Festival – Terrace Green – The Durham County Council-led event will run from Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8

*Seaham Air Raids – Terrace Green – Sunday, August 15

*Seaham Pirates Festival – Terrace Green – Sunday, August 29

*Seaham Fireworks Display – Seafront – Friday, November 5

*Seaham Remembrance Parade – Sunday, November 14
