1. Sunderland 'Til I Die, Series 2
Sunderland 'Til I Die, series 2, is due to air on Netflix in 2020. After season 1, which chronicled Sunderland AFC’s doomed 2017/18 season, proved a huge hit, a second series was quickly commissioned. Season 2 will follow the agonising end to the 2018/19 campaign. 2. The Psychology of Serial Killers, The Point, March 28
From Fred and Rose West to the Moors Murderers and the Yorkshire Ripper, a talk coming to Sunderland will look at the disturbing minds of some of the world’s most notorious serial killers.The Psychology of Serial Killers has already sold out three nights in Middlesbrough and at the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle – now it’s heading to Sunderland. Expert Jennifer Rees will host the talk at The Point in Park Lane on Saturday, March 28. During the talk, you will discover how serial killers are classified. 3. Sunderland Restaurant Week,
Tuck into bargain bait as preparations take place for the next Sunderland Restaurant Week. The dates for the next instalment of the discount dining scheme have been revealed as March 21-29, 2020. Aimed at bringing more footfall to Sunderland’s restaurants and cafes, the scheme by Sunderland Bid gives diners the chance to download vouchers, worth either £5, £10 or £15, which can be redeemed at participating businesses during the week. 4. Sausage & Cider Festival, Rainton Arena, April 4
A sausage and cider festival is set to be a real banger when it comes to Sunderland. For the first time, Rainton Arena will host The Great North East Sausage and Cider Festival, which will combine people’s love of the classic food and drink on Saturday, April 4. Fans of cider can look forward to more than 25 different types from across the UK, including classics as well as more unusual varieties such as rum cider, chocolate cider and tropical.
