9. Trail of Rainbows, Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
Visitors to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens can complete a Trail of Rainbows (available until Saturday, November 11, 10am to 4pm at a cost of £1). Rainbows are a symbol of hope, diversity and happiness. Visitors are invited to find the objects around the Museum that are all the colours of the rainbow. 10. Elmer activities, Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
Staying with an Elmer theme, the Museum is hosting an Elmer and Friends Shadow Puppet Play on Wednesday, October 25 (1pm and 2pm), where young people can make their own puppets of David McKee’s characters, including Two Can Toucan and King Rollo. 11. Festival of Light, Mowbray Park
The Festival of Light at Mowbray Park is extending its hours for the half-term holidays. Instead of running Thursdays to Sundays, it will run every night that week. . 12. Sunderland Empire workshops
Sunderland Empire is running workshops over the half term holidays including a Puppetry Masterclass, Show in a Day and Halloween Hocus Pocus.
