John was also a professional boxer, with 13 fights under his belt during the 1980s and ‘90s, and went on to coach sons Tyson and Tommy.

After his original tour was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, John will be heading to Sunderland to host a talk at The Point in Holmeside on September 24, 2021.

Tickets are on sale now for The Truth Tour, an Evening with John Fury, on ents24.com.

Announcing the tour on his social media, John said: “I’m over the moon to announce my UK Tour. Telling the full 'TRUTH' about my life from the beginning till today, No Holds Barred! From Tyson and Tommy to A little bit of trouble here and there.”

Prior to the pandemic, The Point underwent an £100,000 investment to improve its lighting and sound and to also increase its seating and standing capacity.

With venues able to host live performances once more from May 17, in line with the Government’s roadmap to lead the country out of Lockdown, The Point has announced a number of dates for 2021.
