Hide AdThis isn’t the first time Pink has announced a performance at the Stadium of Light. She first played the venue back in 2010 and was the first female to play a headline set there.
She was also the only headline act to play at the stadium that summer after 2009 saw Oasis and Take That play in front of North East crowds with Oasis’ show coming a matter of weeks before the band’s infamous break up.
Take That returned in 2011 for a run of three dates which also gave fans the first chance to see the group perform as a five piece for the first time since 1995. That summer also saw Kings Of Leon head to Wearside.

The North East Live lineup included JLS, Rita Ora and Little Mix, among others.
The one day festival returned in 2014 with Jessie J, Jason Derulo, The Saturdays, Rizzle Kicks and more all playing as part of the event while One Direction also entertained fans during a headline set in the same summer.

After a short spell away, music returned to the Stadium in 2019 with the Spice Girls’ Spice World tour.
The summer of 2022 saw Ed Sheeran and Elton John both play hugely successful shows at the stadium.
