Jimmy Nail set for North East return as Tyneside show announced

Local icon Jimmy Nail has announced a Tyneside homecoming show.

The star will head out on the road in 2026 with the Stories and Songs tour, a series of intimate retrospective shows reflecting on his seven-decade long career.

From the landmark television series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet to Spender and then Crocodile Shoes — which spawned multi-platinum albums and chart-topping singles, he remains hugely popular, especially in his native North East.

Following a recent run of sell-out shows in Newcastle, celebrating the songs of Crocodile Shoes, Jimmy now brings audiences something more personal.

Audiences can expect candid anecdotes, moments of reflection, and a hand-picked selection of songs drawn from across his remarkable career.

No two nights are expected to be the same. From the 1992 UK number one “Ain’t No Doubt”, to “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore”, “Crocodile Shoes”, “Cowboy Dreams”, “Big River” and beyond, there is plenty of setlist opporttunities.

Nail will be joined on stage by long-time collaborator Tony Davis on keyboards and accordion.

The Tyneside show is due to take place on Sunday, October 11 with tickets on sale from Friday, January 23.
