Alex Neil’s side will face Wycombe Wanderers in the League One play-off final at Wembley as they look to end a four-year stay in the third tier.

5. Ross Stewart - Summer of 2023
What a season it's been for the Scottish frontman, who has scored 25 goals for the Black Cats. Stewart has a year left on his Sunderland contract, while the club hold an additional one-year option to extend the deal until the summer of 2024.

6. Anthony Patterson - Summer of 2023
After starting the year on loan at National League side Notts County, the 21-year-old goalkeeper has become Sunderland's first-choice stopper under Alex Neil. Patterson signed a new two-year deal with the option of a further year last summer.

7. Dennis Cirkin - Summer of 2024
Still only 20, the defender has made 40 appearances for Sunderland in all competitions this season following his arrival from Tottenham.

8. Ellis Taylor - Summer of 2024
The 19-year-old has predominantly played for the under-23 side this season but has also made a handful of appearances for the first team. Taylor signed his first professional contract with Sunderland last summer, when he penned a three-year deal at the club.
