The Black Cats beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 on aggregate to reach the final, while Wycombe battled past MK Dons by the same scoreline over two legs.
Both sides set up with a 4-2-3-1 formation in the semi-finals but have also played with a back three this campaign.
For a bit of fun we’ve made a combined starting XI with players from both clubs.
Here’s who made the cut:

5. RW: Garath McCleary (Wycombe)
At 34, McCleary remains a key player for the Chairboys. The wideman has contributed with 11 goals and seven assists in 44 League One appearances this season.

6. CM: Corry Evans (Sunderland)
It was a difficult start to the season for the Sunderland captain who struggled with his form and injury setbacks. Evans, 31, has been a regular starter under Neil, though, and produced some excellent performances in the middle of the park to help his side reach the play-off final.

7. CM: Josh Scowen (Wycombe)
Sunderland fans may be surprised to see Scowen included after he was released by the Black Cats last summer. The 29-year-old has been at the heart of Wycombe's midfield this season, though, and is one of the first names on the team sheet under Ainsworth.

8. LW: Jack Clarke (Sunderland)
Performances have been mixed from the Tottenham loanee since his move to Sunderland in January. Clarke produced his best performance as a Black Cats player in the second leg against Sheffield Wednesday, though, when he capped off an excellent display by assisting Patrick Roberts' winning goal.
