Three clubs keen on Sunderland winger after surprise Europa League decision

Chemsdine Talbi is attracting interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia after being left out of Sunderland’s Europa League squad.

Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi reportedly has three clubs chasing his signature as doubt remains over his future at the Stadium of Light.

The ten-times capped Morocco international enjoyed a promising first season at the Stadium of Light as he scored four goals and provided two assists in 30 appearances in all competitions to help the Black Cats secure a place in this season’s Europa League. After making a substitute appearance in the opening day defeat at Ipswich Town last month, Talbi remained on the bench for last weekend’s home win against Fulham and Thursday brought news he had been left out of the club’s Europa League squad.

Regis Le Bris has admitted the former Club Brugge star could still leave Sunderland over the coming days despite the Premier League’s summer transfer window coming to a close earlier this week. Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s visit to Brentford, the Black Cats head coach said of the winger’s future: “Yes, a move remains possible. So it’s important to respect both parties. We’ll see. He’s still a good player. He has huge potential, but after that, you still have a window to decide if it’s the right pathway.”

Turkish outlet Takvim have claimed Super Lig giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray both have the Black Cats star ‘on their transfer agenda’ before their summer transfer window comes to a close on Friday and have paid close attention to Talbi’s situation at the Stadium of Light in recent weeks. However, Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad are also said to be on the winger and they will have until Sunday to come to an agreement with Sunderland and the winger’s representatives.
